5. What foods can I eat with my braces?

Braces are delicate, precision appliances that need special care. You can still enjoy most of your favorite foods with braces. However, you should be careful with some types of food. You will need to avoid hard, sticky, or crunchy foods, such as caramels, nuts, gum, taffy or popcorn. Some foods should be cut into small pieces before eating, including hard fruits and vegetables. Try to limit the consumption of beverages with high sugar content, such as soda or some juices. Extended exposure to these types of beverages can breakdown tooth enamel and affect the appearance and integrity of the teeth.
